Mining projects
Questions answered on this page
What different projects do Eurobattery Minerals have?
Eurobattery Minerals have battery mineral projects in Hautalampi in Finland and in San Juan in Spain.

When will you open your first mine?
We are advancing our projects in line with our development plans, with the ambition to move into production step by step over the coming years.
For our Spanish San Juan wolfram project, the current expectation is to start operations in Q1 2027. For the Hautalampi battery mineral project in Finland, the expected timeline for operations is 2029–2030, based on current estimates at the time of writing.
At the same time, it is important to recognise that developing and operating a mine is inherently complex and subject to uncertainty. Mining projects depend on a range of external factors, including permitting processes, environmental approvals, and decisions by governmental and local authorities. These processes can vary significantly in duration depending on jurisdiction and specific project conditions.
In addition, the broader geopolitical situation and market conditions may influence timelines, for example through impacts on supply chains, equipment availability, and the overall investment environment.
As a result, timelines should be seen as current expectations rather than fixed deadlines. That said, we work in a structured and disciplined way, maintaining close and continuous dialogue with authorities and stakeholders to move our projects forward as efficiently and responsibly as possible..
What is the status of each project?
The status of our different projects is evolving. For the latest updates, please visit the respective project site as per below.

How many minerals will you be able to mine in your existing projects?
We know that our Spanish San Juan project and the Finnish Hautalampi project both have strong mineral potential. However, in line with industry standards, mineral resources and reserves are defined and verified through independent third-party assessments.
For Hautalampi, we have a third-party verification prepared in accordance with the internationally recognised JORC Code, confirming significant resources of nickel, cobalt and copper. For detailed information about the mineral and metal potential, read more here.
For the San Juan tungsten (wolfram) project in Galicia, Spain, mineral resources have been estimated at approximately 145,600 tonnes of ore, with an average grade of around 1.3% tungsten trioxide (WO₃). These include both measured and indicated resources, supported by drilling, trenching and geological modelling in accordance with international reporting practices. Based on current data, an initial preliminary estimate suggests a potential extraction of approximately 910,000 tonnes of ore.
The proven and probable reserves support the project’s economic viability and near-term production potential. The project also shows additional upside potential. Based on current data, the broader extraction potential could reach significantly higher volumes, subject to further drilling and resource expansion.
As with all mining projects, resource estimates and production volumes may evolve over time as additional studies, operational data and geological understanding develop.
You have projects in Finland and Spain. Are you looking at other projects as well?
The short answer is yes. We are looking for additional battery mineral projects in Europe. For example, we are investigating specific projects in central Europe. Eurobattery Minerals’ strategy is to have several parallel projects ongoing. So far, we have projects in Finland and Spain.
