Our approach to Responsible Mining
Responsible mining is fundamental to how Eurobattery Minerals operates and makes decisions. It is not a standalone policy or a box to be ticked, but an integrated way of working that guides our governance, risk management, project development and everyday operations.
Our approach to Responsible Mining
While Europe already has some of the world’s most demanding regulatory frameworks for mining, our ambition is to go further — by embedding responsibility into the culture of our company and the way we engage with society.
All human activity has some degree of impact
We start from a clear premise: mining has an impact, and responsibility lies in how that impact is managed, minimised and transparently communicated. From early exploration through development, operations and eventual closure, we apply a precautionary and long-term perspective. Environmental protection, safe and healthy workplaces, ethical business conduct and respect for human rights are non-negotiable elements of our approach.
Trust is built on dialogue
Trust is the foundation of responsible mining. That trust is built through open dialogue, transparency and long-term engagement with local communities and stakeholders. We believe that projects are stronger when concerns are addressed early, expectations are clearly communicated, and local knowledge is respected. Responsible mining is therefore as much about listening as it is about engineering and geology.
“Responsibly mined minerals from Europe are essential for Europe’s future — but responsibility is not declared, it is demonstrated through actions, transparency and long-term commitment.”
Roberto García Martínez, CEO of Eurobattery Minerals.
Our approach also reflects Europe’s broader ambitions: strengthening strategic autonomy in critical raw materials while upholding the highest ESG and safety standards. By combining modern technology, strict compliance, continuous improvement and meaningful stakeholder engagement, we aim to demonstrate that responsible mining can earn public trust and deliver lasting value — for local communities, for society, and for Europe’s sustainability transition.
